Nominations for Squash BOP & Squash NZ Awards for 2021 are now open. The categories include volunteer, club & coaches.
Please take the time to nominate someone you think is worthy. Its a great way to thank those important people in your club, and the fact they have been nominated is rewarding enough, even if they don't win.
The volunteer of the year is always a hotly contested category. All of our clubs have some amazing people who sacrifice so much for our sport. Last year's winner was Reporoa's Treena Braithwaite which was a wonderful acknowledgement of her many years of service to the club.
The coaching awards are split into three categories to align with Squash NZ's framework - Foundation, Development and Performance. Last year our Foundation coach of the year was the one and only Dame Susan Devoy, who spent many hours at the club introducing new players to our sport. Our Development coach of the year was Logan Brewer, who has really committed himself to coaching in the Bay over the past couple of years.
Last year Katikati Squash Club was given the honour of being our club of the year. The club had a great year on and off the court, with increased membership as well as enhancements within the club.
The other awards that BOP present include Player and Personality of the Year, which are chosen by the Board each season. 2020 player of the year was NZ Under 17 Champion Joe Smythe, and personality was Geyser City's Gavin Hudson.
See below for nomination forms. Please send them to us by 5pm Wednesday 27 October via email admin@squashbop.co.nz
The Squash BOP Awards will be held at Geyser City on Saturday November 13 (COVID permitting!)
