Making Bay of Plenty Senior Team is the pinnacle achievement for local players. The Bay has had some impressive teams over the years and some incredible players pull on the Bay top. Players such as Bruce Brownlee (World Rank 6), Robbie Wyatt (WR 54), Paul Steele (WR 20), Susan Devoy (WR 1), Trevor Johnston (WR 8), Steve Cunningham (WR 22), Karen Lever (WR 22) and many others have created a strong tradition, and it is a privilege for players to follow in their footsteps
The defending champion women's team is looking to retain their title for the third successive year. Team leader Amanda Landers-Murphy is unavailable this year, paving the way for promising junior Katie Templeton to join her brother Glenn as a Bay representative. Glenn has recently been named in the NZ Junior team to compete at the World Juniors in Malaysia.
The men's team includes returning BOP player Ben Thornton. Ben is a product of Reporoa Squash Club and he also spent time at Ti Street and Devoy as he came through the junior ranks.
The team travels to the brand new Christchurch club to compete in the Senior Inter-District Teams on the weekend of 30 August - 1 September.
